​​​Certified Phlebotomy Technician Training Program

     The Harborview Phlebotomy School, Certified Phlebotomy Training Program, is designed to teach and give hands on phlebotomy training to individuals desiring to enter the field of allied health care. The phlebotomy classes primary goal is to instill the latest information on blood collection techniques, skills and equipment for a safe and effective specimen collection thus enhancing customer service and promoting patient care. 

     The Certified Phlebotomy TrainingProgram includes 72 hours of classroom instruction. The curriculum meets all requirements necessary to sit for the NHA National Board Certification for Certified Phlebotomy Technicians exam.
     The Certified Phlebotomy Technician Training,  trains students in venipuncture and dermal puncture techniques. Phlebotomy Technician students obtain hands on clinical internship on site. Phlebotomy Technicians, upon completion of classroom training, will receive a certificate of completion.


NHA Exam is available on site.

  • Draw blood from patients and blood donors
  • Evaluate patients’ ability to withstand procedure
  • Explain blood-drawing procedure to patients and answer questions
  • Perform basic point of care testing, such as blood glucose levels
  • Prepare blood, urine and other specimens for testing
  • Verify patient/donor identity
  • Maintain medical equipment such as needles, test tubes and blood vials

  Phlebotomy Training Classes Requirements


 The Harborview School of Phlebotomy, Certified Phlebotomy Technician Training has the following requirements.   

  • Must be 18 years old and present a photo ID at time of registration


  • Present HS Diploma / GED or  College Transcripts


  • Proof of Malpractice insurance on or before the first day of class.


  • Complete application form 


  • Complete an updated physical and PPD form.
